Ernie Bushmiller's classic characters Sluggo and Nancy were known as "Arthur et Zoé" in France. Nancy's Aunt, Fritzi Ritz, was, naturellement, "Tante Fritzi." From the late '50s through the early '70s the strips were the American originals with French translations.
