Dirty Water Update

Our pal Guuzbourg sent us two versions of DW that we were unaware of. One is by Belgian band De Kreuners, in Dutch, called Vuil Water (Vile Water?). Our Dutch is a little rusty, and the lyrics are kinda hard to make out, so let's assume the river is the Yser, and the city is, um, Antwerp.

The other version is by Boston's own Dropkick Murphys. Finally, a Boston band singing a song about Boston.

Die Kreuners - Vuil Water

Dropkick Murphys - Dirty Water

The city is Lier, near Antwerp, and the river is the Nete.

Belg is right. The lyrics in Dutch are pretty much the same. Instead of Boston it's Lier, the river's The Ne(te), but the girls still have to at home at midnight.
It's sung in a Dutch dialect, by the way.

No wonder I had a hard time understanding it! Must be the same as you guys trying to suss out American rappers. Come to think of it, I can't figure out what their saying either. Anyway, thanks for the correction.
