Think Mink

Just saw John Waters' masterpiece "Female Trouble" for the first time in many a moon. Topnotch performances all round, including Divine's over-the-top scenery chewing. But if I had to choose my fave Dreamlander, it would have to be Mink Stole. Mink nearly steals the movie as Taffy Davenport, Divine's ungrateful daughter. Other fine performances include Connie Marble, who impregnates kidnapped women and sells the babies to lesbian couples in "Pink Flamingos," and wigged-out suburbanite Peggy Gravel, who snaps, kills a cop, and hides out in Mortville in "Desparate Living."

Mink is still around, acting in films and TV. She still looks great at 59. In addition to her acting endeavors, Mink is also collaborating on a music project with Viir Exeter called Biomechanic. Check out her cool webite. And for God's sake, go out and rent one of her movies.

My favorite Connie Marbles line: "There are two kinds of people in the world Miss Sandstone - Miss Sandy Sandstone - my kind of people.....and assholes."

But of course the best line in the movie comes when Divine is being interviewed and is asked: "What is your philosophy of life?" Divine replies, "Kill everyone now!"
