It Was The Third Of June

This is the day that Bobbie Gentry's "Ode To Billie Joe" takes place. That makes it a holy day of obligation. You are required to listen to it at least once. On vinyl. If you don't have it, find a copy. I have two.

Here's a bunch of new album covers for ya to enjoy on a sleepy, dusty, delta day.

Nothin' like some old slave tales told by a blue dog with a southern drawl.

Just relaxin' in the tub with a trombone.

It's a Columbia Master Work.

Mr. Rogers goes country.

I had no idea God was a redneck sheriff.

I've never heard of the Lundstroms. I'm sure they're big in Japan.

Bettilu and Jay W. And it's signed!

The Lundstroms are famous in Middle America. Back in 1978, when my then-wife and I started our time together by buying a mobile home, there was a sticker on the refrigerator: "Pray for the Lundstroms!" It took days and razor blades and cleaning powder and elbow grease to get that sticker and its glue off of our avocado green fridge. I was not praying for the Lundstroms as I worked on it! (By the way, the gal in the bathtub is not consorting with a trombone: she is -- forgive me -- a strumpet with a trumpet!
