Tammy Faye La Valley Bakker Messner passed away quietly in the company of her family. Actually, I don't know how quiet it was, or whom she was with. I only know that she was a televangelist unlike any other. She was flashy to the point of charicature. She didn't speak in tounges or do faith healings (she left that to Jim). When the scandal hit she didn't go all Jesusy on us. She went back to public life and worked her fame for all it was worth. So, a quiet moment for a great lady: preacher, singer, puppeteer and gay icon. She will be missed.For an example of her fine singing check out my post of two of her songs.

Yes Tammy Faye was a well-known personality, but let's not forget she ripped off millions of dollars with the help of her ex-husband Jimbo
